Amaravati: In the wake of heavy rains, CM Chandrababu is once again preparing for a field visit. He has already made a whirlwind tour of the flood-affected areas of Vijayawada till 4 am on Monday. From 2 pm on Sunday, he toured relentlessly and reviewed the flood situation. Ajit visited Singh Nagar, Krishna Lanka, Ibrahimpatnam, Ferry, Jupudi and Moolapadu areas. In Jupudi and Moolapadu, people took to the roads as water entered the houses. At midnight on Sunday, the CM went to the victims and learned about the problems.

Chandrababu urged everyone to be brave in facing the calamity. In case of difficulties, it is advised to call the toll free number announced by the government and provide information. He assured the victims that no one should lose heart. Everyone has been asked to follow the precautions prescribed by the government. After the Nirvirama visit, CM Chandrababu went to take a rest in the bus arranged at Vijayawada Collectorate at 4 o’clock in the morning. He is preparing to go to the victims again. The CM will visit the flood affected areas shortly.

The CM talked to the owners of private hotels

CM Chandrababu ordered to prepare food through Durga temple to provide to the flood victims. He called the temple authorities and spoke on this matter. They want to prepare Pulihora for 50 thousand people. On the other hand, he spoke to the owners of private hotels in Vijayawada. They were instructed to prepare food for one lakh people by morning.

Chandrababu, who himself recorded every complaint of the flood victims, said that due to the high flow, technical problems were arising in the relief operations and asked him to give him one day on Sunday to fix the system. CM Chandrababu visited the flood affected areas of Ajitsinghnagar on Sunday morning and visited Krishna Lanka along with Ajitsinghnagar for the second time on Sunday midnight. Although it was said that traveling by boat in the middle of the night was a security problem, they roamed the area for half an hour in the light of cell phone and video camera lights. They went into the submerged houses and visited the people. Food packets were given to many families. The representatives of Akshaya Patra organization prepared food packets for one lakh people and handed them over to the victims of Ajitsinghnagar during the second visit of the CM. It is a heartbreaking situation for all the families trapped in the flood waters. It hurts to see them. The heart is pounding. Chandrababu said that we will stand by the victims so that their morale is not damaged. After visiting the flood affected areas in Singhnagar, he reviewed with the officials after midnight. Later spoke to the media. We are providing food and water to as many people as possible at night. There is some relief among them. I myself gave food and water to some. They got courage. Everyone wants to get out of the flood zone. Some are staying at home, while others are worried about not being able to go to their homes from outside. Different conditions for Hudhud Wilayam and today’s disaster. Water is a problem here. We can go in boats and see some houses. The water will decrease a bit by tomorrow. We will get everyone out. Chandrababu explained that we will start the operation with NDRF boats coming at night. 

Carelessness in crop damage assessment will not be tolerated

Chief Minister Chandrababu warned that strict action will be taken if the officials evade the crop loss assessment and ensure that no injustice is done to any farmer. On Sunday morning, CS, DGP, Ministers, Collectors and SPs were reviewed through teleconference. He said that he will stay here till normal conditions are established. Senior officers have been assigned various responsibilities. It has been suggested that command control is being established and anyone can call 112 and 107 numbers and report the problem. As soon as the flood recedes, drones should be used to assess crop damage. Damaged houses and livestock should be assessed. A report should be sent to the central government. A letter should be written to NHAI on the repairs of national highways and work in coordination. In flood areas, the situation should be reviewed through drones and CCTV cameras. Sanitation works should be taken up in the villages immediately,’ the CM ordered. Ministers Narayana, Kollu Ravindra, Achchennaidu, Nadendla Manohar and Parthasarathy explained the situation in the respective districts and the measures taken to the CM. Officials said that 6,000 people have been shifted to rehabilitation centers in Bapatla district.

TDEPA ranks should be involved in relief activities

Chandrababu called the TDP cadres to participate in relief activities in the flood affected areas for three days from Sunday. He spoke to them in a teleconference. It is advised to prepare food packets in canteens and give them to the victims. ‘All MLAs, Ministers and MPs should be available. I will review what programs you have done. 30-year-old Kitram took oath as CM for the first time on this day. Chandrababu said to the party leaders that 93% of pensions were distributed on Saturday despite such heavy rains. On this occasion, Mylavaram MLA Vasantha Krishnaprasad mentioned the issue of Budameru river. He said that the holes should be filled and if a permanent solution to the problem is not given, the intensity of flooding in Vijayawada will increase.
