In order to tackle possible holiday rush on ORR leading to choas and congestion,traffic police chief on Tuesday requested the president of outer ring road companies association to allow work from home option on Wednesday.
In a letter signed by Joint commissioner of traffic,MN Anucheth,said that the vehicle rush prediction could be possible due to long weekend coupled with predicted heavy rainfall.
To minimize disruption and avoid undue delay,it is requested to bring to the notice of the members of the companies to consider allowing work from home for the employee on Wednesday.
The measure according to Mr.Anucheth will not only reduce the number of vehicles on the road but also ensure a smooth commute for all those who need to travel,he said reiterating to consider the request for understanding and support in managing traffic.
In June this year the traffic police struggled for several hours on ORR Continuous showers for at least two hours after vehicles from companies piled up on ORR soon after the heavy rain.
Due to the slow movements of vehicles during rain. Bumper to bumper traffic scene has been witnessed as the number of vehicles exceeded the road capacity.
The situation worsened due to the ongoing metro construction that has blocked the service road occupying major part of the road space.
Waterlogging due to blocked shoulder drains continues add worse to the situation with two wheelers and pedestrian struggle to move.
