Narcotics drugs worth 42 crore rupees destroyed by BCP in Bengaluru

The Bengaluru city police destroyed Rs.42 crore worth drugs seized in the recent past while observing Drug Awareness Program on the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in the city.

Addressing the gathering Home Minister G Parameshwara said that the drug menace posing a threat not only to the fabrics of the society and also cause law and problem.

Investigations by the police found that youth between the age group of 17 to 20 involved in serious offences like murder and other criminal cases are addicted to alcohol,which is matter of the great concern.

The state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah,has declared war against drugs and state police is fighting the menace to contain the menace .

Mr.Parameshwar reiterated that he would ensure that he would not allow the city to become “Udta Bengaluru”.

He called upon the other concerned government agencies to join hands to fight against drugs .

Suggesting a comprehensive plan to fight the menace , Mr.Parameshwar,called upon the IT companies and industries to join hands to fight the menace .

Shivajinagar MLA,Rizwan Arshad,Political secretary of Chief Minister,K.Govindaraju,Director General and Inspector General of Police,Alok Mohan,Director General of Police CID,MA Saleem,City Police Commissioner,B.Dayananda,Additional Director General of Police,CID,Pronab Mohanty and other senior police officials were present .

The police have organised a signature campaign and walk where hundreds of students and others participated .
