A 27-year-old PhD student found dead under mysterious circumstances at Bengaluru University hostel on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Ranganath Nayak, native of Chikkaballapura living in the university hostel .
Senior officer told reporters that he was unwell for few days and went to hostel room for rest after breakfast yesterday.
The incident came to light when his room mates tried to wake him up but the room was locked.They forced open the door before alerting the management and found him dead on the bed.
The Jnanabharati police rushed to the spot,conducted spot inspection before shifting his body for post-mortem to rule out any foul play.
There were no visible injury marks on the body and post mortem report will ascertain the cause of death, a police officer, said .
