Engineering Student arrested by KIAL police for trying to open an emergency exit door of domestic flight he was travelling

The Kempegowda international airport police on Wednesday arrested a 22-year-old engineering student on the charges of trying to open an emergency exit door of the domestic flight he weas travelling.

The accused Karthik Karan,native of Kolkata pursing MCA first year was first time traveller and had come to Bengaluru via indigo flight to meet his friend during vacation.

The cabin crew noticed Karan trying to open the emergency exit door and stopped him before raising a complaint against him under unruly passenger and was handed over to security personnel after the flight landed at the Kempegowda International airport .

Other passengers travelling with him were panicked for sometime before the cabin crew took all the precautionary measures to ensure safety of the plain.

Based on the complaint by Mohammed Umar,assistant Manager of Indigo Aviation,the police arrested Karan charging him with section 336 (rashly or negligently as to endanger human life or the personal safety of others) of IPC.

The accused was questioned by police recorded his statement before he was released on station bail.

Karan in his statement said that he did not tried to open and was holding the handle of the emergency exit door to get up and get out of the plane,first he said.
