Mobile shop owner Mukesh who has been under attack by a group of youth over the issue of playing loud music during prayer time in Nagarathpet has now been booked for assault and criminal intimidation.
Based on the complaint lodged by father of one of the accused in the case, the police have registered an FIR on March 27 based on the court direction .
The shop under the name Krishna telecom on siddanna Galli was started a month ago.
Mukesh used to play loud music especially during prayer time during the holy month of Ramazan where over 3000 people attend everyday.
When Sulaiman and others confront Mukesh objecting him for playing music during prayer time. Mukesh allegedly verbally abused them but also assaulted them, the complaint said .
Following the Incident on March 17, the issue escalated and BJP leaders led by south and central MP and shobha karandlaje staged a protest amidst election code of conduct twisting the issue of assaulting Mukesh for playing devotional songs.
The shop keepers also staged a protest in front of the police station demanding arrest of the accused and even shut down the shops in protest .
