Tahsildhar has done caring politics in district: Bommai

Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai opined the induction of former minister and senior Congress leader,Manohar Tahsildhar into the BJP has given a new strength to the Haveri BJP district unit.

Speaking at his induction function held here on Saturday,he said Tahsildhar has been in politics in Hangal constituency for very long time.

After C.M.Udasi won from the Hangal seat as an independent candidate, there had been serious political war among the duo but they had no enmity as they respected each other.

However, politics was polluted of late and vengeance politics has been going on in Hangal taluk. There was no police station politics in Hangal taluk in the past.

Bommai said Manohar Hangal built the Congress Party in Hangal taluk but he wanted to join the BJP due to injustice to the Congress workers in the taluk and also anti-people policies pursued by the incumbent Congress government.

Tahsildhar joined the BJP by appreciating the administrative skills of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His entry into the party had given a new social strength to the Haveri district unit and he had been welcomed into the party by veteran BJP leader, BS.Yediyurappa. Respect being given the seniors would be extended to Tahsildar, he added.

State BJP President,B.Y.Vijendra,Leader of the Opposition in the State legislative Assembly,R.Ashok and others were present.
