Amendment to the BBMP Act to help builders to indulge in irregularities: Basavaraj Bommai

Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai opined that the amendment to the BBMP Act would help the big builders to indulge in irregularities.

Speaking on the amendment to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike Act 2024 in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday,he said the amendment was like a boon to the existing builders to indulge in corruption and this act was in favor of the rich and influential builders.

The BJP would oppose the bill tooth and nail as it would pave way for a big irregularities.Deputy Chief Minister D.K.Shivakumar must review the same because it would not benefit farmers in any manner.

A similar proposal had come during his tenure as the CM but it was rejected.Already,Bengaluru has become a city without planning and it would continue to do so.It would cause more problems.So,this bill would be opposed by BJP, he added
