The re-examination for the recruitment of 545 Police Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) went on peaceful amidst tight security.
As many as 54,000 candidates appeared for the exam at the 117 centres across the city.
A total number of six police personnel including four men and two women police personnel were deployed invigilate and secure the examination hall .
The candidates were subjected to multi level of checks and checked dress code before allowing them to exam hall.
A security personnel at St.Joseph college cut off sleeves of a candidate to half using a scissor after he was found wearing full sleeves shirt in violation of dress code.
In another incident,the police personnel struggled hard and used shampoo to remove bracelet from a candidate.The candidates from Gadag sustained bruises in the process.
The police have issued a strict dress code for the candidates banning full sleeves shirts,jeans pant with multi pocket or zipped pockets,bigger buttons with special design .
The shoes and wearing socks,caps and masks,carrying electronic gadgets and pencil boxes,log books and water bottles are banned .
The police have stepped up vigil in and around the exam hall and the candidates were not allowed to go out of the exam hall till the final bell.
