Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said the Congress Party was divided over the participation in the inauguration of Sri Ram Temple in Ayodya.
While the party high command has declined to attend the function,the MLAs from North India have confirmed their attendance in the event.
Addressing a news conference at the party office here on Saturday, he said initially Chief Minister Siddaramaiah told that he would not go to Ayodya.
Since he got a number of advisors,the CM has been making different statement daily.One day he said that he would offer Puja to Lord Ram in his home town and then said he would not attend the temple opening function.
Based on the advice by another person,Siddaramaiah said he would visit Ayodya.Nobody knew what all he would say before the event.
Bommai said the Congress Party was divided over the Ram Mandir issue as the former AICC President Sonia Gandhi and AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge said they wouldn’t attend the function,the MLA from North India have announced that they would go to Ayodya.
The Karnataka Congress leaders have hinted at going to Ayodya after January 22.On the one hand they didn’t want to lose the Minority community votes andnon the other hand they were afraid of loaing the Hindu votes. So,they have decided to see the Ram Mandir in Ayodya.
