New born baby girl rescued by passers-by from drain on NH4 highway in outskirts of Nelamangala

Passers-by rescued a new born baby girl from the drain on National highway 4 in the outskirts of Nelamangala on Saturday.

They heard the baby crying from the drain and rescued before alerted the police.

The Nelamangala rural police rushed to the spot and handed over to the officials of Child adoption centre for further procedure .

The police later started checking the discharge summery of all the hospital and zeroed in on the mother identified as Supriya from bestara bidi in Jigani .

The woman was later produced before the women and child welfare committee for counselling and further procedure .

According to the police,the mother delivered the baby girl in Vani Vilas hospital on 28 of November and did not want.

The woman gave confusing statement citing the reason that she delivered out of wedlock and father is not accepting the baby.

The committee is now has to decide on further legal course of action, a senior officer,said .
