Conman posing as traffic management centre staff cheats people of ‘dues’ in Bengaluru

Central Cyber Crime police are on the lookout for a conman who posing as Traffic Management centre staff cheating people on the pretext of dues.

Based on the complaint filed by Somashekhara,a private firm employee and resident of RR Nagar,the police charged the accused under various section of IT Act and impersonation on Saturday.

Somashekhara in his complaint said that the accused called him on his mobile claiming to be Head Constable with traffic department informing his about traffic fine dues against his car.

The accused shared the car number of Somashekhara along with his copy of the ID card in the name of Kumaraswamy with the badge number .

However the complainant got suspicion when the accused also shared QR code asking him to pay the fine and cross checked with the TMC to realize that racket.

Based on the advise,Somashekhara approached the police and filed a complaint with the details including the contact number of the accused .

A senior police officer said that people should be careful if they get such calls and advised them to cross check with Traffic management centre he said.
