Three killed four injured in accident as Van collided with moving truck in Bengaluru-Mysuru Highway

Three members of the family were killed and four others injured when the van they were travelling collided with a moving truck Near Kenpagegowdanadoddi in Ramanagara on Bengaluru-Mysuru express way on Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as Rajesh,50,his wife Latha,45 and her mother Lakshmamma.

The injured Suresh, Shrujan,Rohan and Mohan were injured and admitted to Ramanagara district hospital .

The victims are from Peenya and heading to Srirangapatna to perform ritual for the deceased.

Rajesh who was driving the can in a bid to overtake the truck lost control and collided with the truck.The impact of the accident was so high that the vehicle was mangled and police along with the passers-by struggle to rescue the victims from the vehicle.The Ramanagara traffic police have registered a case and are investigating .

Reacting to the accident on his social media account , former commissioner of traffic and road safety who is presently heading training division,termed the accident as unfortunate happened due to rash and negligent driving.

“ Road Safety requires more serious engagement. In my new role too will train Police men regarding Road Safety and investigation”, he said .
