Today- Amaravati, Rajamahendravaram, Kakinada: Deep concern is being expressed about the security of TDP chief Chandrababu. He is still on the Maoist hit list and has been kept in the Rajamahendravaram Central Jail by the Maoists and their sympathizers. There are hardened criminals, murderers, drug addicts, supari gangs, rowdies, violent criminals and marijuana smugglers. It is being argued that Chandrababu’s life is in danger by keeping him in such a place. Jail officials advised Chandrababu not to move outside the jail barracks. This shows how dangerous his security is. As he was sent to jail, there was no security of NSG commandos. Only four or five prison staff are guarding with sticks in shifts.
There is concern that the NSG commandos who were given security by the Maoists because of the threat to his life, are now being kept without security by the same Maoists. Sources of TDP suspect that he was sent to jail in an illegal case to get rid of him, who was under the protection of NSG commandos. Earlier, Maoists bombed Chandrababu at Alipiri. Later, the Union Home Ministry gave him ZPlus security… and is protecting him with NSG commandos. It has been maintaining that security by regularly reviewing his threat for nearly two decades.
Is it safe or life threatening?
In Rajamahendravaram Central Jail, everyone stays outside the lockup from 6 am to 6 pm. Among them are hardened criminals, armed men and many others. Is it possible to control them with just sticks if any of them rush outside the lockup thinking they want to threaten Chandrababu’s life? Due to lack of staff in the prison, some prisoners are used as staff and do work with them. Do you believe that those who go for work will not be threatened?
Everything is theirs… Former Home Minister Chinarajappa commented that the Rajamahendravaram Central Jail is in the eyes of the authorities. It is being spread that some officials who are completely in favor of the government have been appointed here. CCTV cameras have been installed at Sneha Block where Chandrababu is staying. It is known that Chandrababu had raised an objection to the arrangement in the room as well.
DIG Inspection of Jails Department
Coastal Andhra Prisons Department DIG Ravi Kiran conducted inspections on Wednesday morning against the background of doubts about the security and facilities for Chandrababu in the jail. He did not issue any statement on the issues identified at the field level. Jail officials say these are routine checks.
