That word is not in CRPC: AAG

“There are only judicial custody and police custody in CRPC. There is no such thing as house arrest. AAG Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy argued on behalf of CID that the petition should be rejected. “There is no justification in this petition. They could not provide any evidence for their claims. If Chandrababu is allowed to be placed under house arrest, there is a possibility of influencing the witnesses. Rajamahendravaram Central Jail is surrounded by a 50 feet high wall. No one can go there. Nowhere is safer than prison. 24 hours medical supervision. We have specially allocated a ward for him. The entire area is under the surveillance of CCTV cameras. Chandrababu has more security in jail than at home. The Home Ministry has written a letter to the DG of Prisons to take measures for his safety. If he comes out, there is a possibility of affecting the investigation of the case. Ponnavolu argued that it is ridiculous that his life is in danger. arrested, During the remand, the CID officers had conducted a medical examination on Chandrababu and it was found that he was perfectly healthy, and because of his health, he was traveling across the state and speaking in meetings. He said that medical problems are being misled for relaxation in judicial remand.
