The Parappana Agrahara police are on the lookout for a woman who abandoned a new born baby girl after delivering her in the washroom of a private hospital on Sunday night.
The woman had come along with her parents to consult the doctor at Anugraha hospital on GSP road complaining back pain.
While waiting for the doctor the woman went to washroom and escaped soon after coming out at around 11.15 pm .
The incident came to light when the staff went to the washroom around 2 hours to find the new born baby girl lying on the floor .
Based on the complaint by Dr.SR Meenakshi,the police have registered a case against the woman charging her under section 317 (Exposure and abandonment of child under twelve years,by parent or person having care of it) for further investigations.
The police are checking the CCTV footage to track down the woman while the baby was given to the care of the hospital until further orders .
