Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav recently announced that some features of Vande Bharat Express coaches will be improved for the convenience of passengers.

Delhi: The Vande Bharat Trains introduced by the Central Government are gradually running in all the states. These have emerged as modern generation trains in Indian Railways network. In addition to introducing modern features for the safety of passengers, they are also technologically advanced. At present, 25 hundred Bharat trains are plying across the country. Center hopes to make more trains available soon.

Vande Bharat trains are currently running in blue colour. Vande Bharat trains in saffron color will also come soon. In this order, some features will be further improved in Vande Bharat coaches for the comfort of passengers. Recently Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav visited the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai. On this occasion, Vande announced that some changes will be made in Bharat trains. So.. What is going to change in Vande Bharat..?

  • Vande Bharat coaches will use soft cushions in the new coaches in the face of criticism that the seat cushions where the passengers sit are too hard. Also, the color of executive chair car seats will be changed from red to blue and the footrest will be extended. Besides these, magazine bags will also be installed behind the seats.
  • The reclining angle of the seat will be increased to make the journey more comfortable. This allows passengers to move their seats further back. A special point will be set up for the wheelchairs of the disabled and a seat will be allotted to them there.
  • Borderless emergency talk back units are being installed in place of the existing ones so that passengers can talk to the loco pilot in case of emergency. Changes will be made in the hammer box cover to make it easily accessible to passengers. Aerosol fire detection system to detect fire hazards in the coach will be further improved.
  • There will be changes in the airtight panels for better air conditioning for the passengers. Changes will be made to make the emergency push button, which is used to stop the train in case of emergency, easily accessible to the loco pilot. Assembly unit door panels will be made more transparent so that it is possible to know what is happening from one coach to another in case of accidents.
  • Changes will be made to make the mobile charging points under the seats easy to access. Apart from this, besides improving the lighting in the toilet, changes are also being made in the wash basin sizes, water taps and toilet handles.
  • Vande Bharat is developing a new safety system called anti-climbers for better connectivity between coaches in trains. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that this system will be installed in all trains including Vande Bharat.

At present Vande Bharat trains have only AC chaircar coaches. Railway department is planning to introduce sleeper coaches soon. To this end, India's Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has entered into an agreement with Russia's Transmash Holding (TMH) for the manufacture of 120 sleeper coaches. Another 80 sleeper coaches will be manufactured by Titagar Wagons Limited in association with BHEL.
