A 13-year-old inmate who has been rescued and being rehabilitated reportedly escaped from the high security government home for boys situated on Hosur road on Thursday.
The boy identified as Arjun Rampal from UP was rescued by child helpline volunteer from city railway station few days ago since then he was housed in the facility .
Since he was suffering from smallpox,he was getting treated and placed in a separate room on the first floor of the building.The officials also deployed a security guard to look after the boy.
However on Thursday, Arjun hoodwinked the security guard and jumped from the first floor of the building to escape .
The Superintendent of the home,Krishnamurthy and his staff searched for the boy before approaching the Siddapura police.
The police launched a search operations and alerted the volunteers of child help line and also police personnel deployed at bus stands,railway stations, public places and also at the entry and exit points .
