Bengaluru City Police conducted surprise checks on Rowdies across city 1300 houses searched 2 Arms case, NDPS cases booked against accused

n a crack down on the anti social elements the city police cracked whip on rowdies and conducted surprise checks on over 1300 houses belonging to the rowdies in the city on Thursday.

The raids were carried from the early morning hours continued for five hours.The special drive is part of the preventive action and check on rowdies and their activities who were recently released on bail.

The police had earlier arrested the rowdies and remanded them to judicial custody ahead of elections .

However soon after they are out,the raids were carried to check on their activities and to send a strong message that they are under the police scanner,a senior police officer part of the operation said .

During the raids the houses were searched and the rowdies were grilled to ascertain their profession, source of income and also about their activities .

All of them have been warned to stay away from anti social activities.

During the police have also recovered few kilos of marijuana, some lethal weapons from the rowdies,A total of two cases under Arms act and three cases under NDPS,have been booked against the accused and arrested them, the police said .

It may be recalled that city police Commissioner B. Dayananda,soon after taking over as new city police chief called a meeting and directed the jurisdictional police officials to keep a tab on rowdy activities .
