High grounds police busted fake job racket,gang of five cheating job aspirants with fake appointment letters arrested

The High grounds police busted an job racket and arrested a gang of five who were cheating people with fake appointment letters offering jobs in BESCOM.

Based on a complaint by Somashekhar,Assistant Executive Engineer,the police registered a case of cheating and forgery and arrested the accused identified as Shivaprasad Channanavar,Vijaykumar Channanavar,Pradeep Purushotham and Lohith.

According to the police the accused runs a job consultancy firm in the city offering government jobs from the gullible candidates and take money worth several lakhs from them.

Using the MO the accused cheated Vaibhav Venkatesh Kulkari by taking Rs.20 lakh from him and offered issued a appointment order for the post of junior assistant in BESCOM,forging the seal and signature of the authorities concerned .

The racket came to light when Mr.Kulkarni walked into the office with the appointment order and officials found it to be fake.

The police suspect that the accused have cheated many people and we have requested the people who have been cheated by the accused,to approach us, senior officer told reporters.
