Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that there are no proposals to establish horticultural universities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Today, Delhi: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that there are no proposals to establish horticultural universities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The Union Minister gave a written reply to the question asked by the Rajya Sabha Member of India KR Suresh Reddy on Wednesday. The Minister stated that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for setting up a Tribal University in Mulugu in Telangana has been completed.

* Union Minister of State for Education Subhash Sarkar said that the construction of the building in IIT Tirupati should be completed by the 30th of this month. The Union Minister gave a written reply to the question raised by Vaikapa Rajya Sabha member Vijayasai Reddy. It was mentioned that the handover of the buildings and the commencement of the programs should be completed by June 30. He said that IIT Tirupati has requested to allocate Rs.407.49 crores for 2023-24 and it is being considered.

*  Minister of National Highways Nitin Gadkari said that Bangalore-Kadapa-Vijayawada Economic Corridor work has started with a cost of Rs.14,060 crore and it is aimed to complete the work in phases by March 2027. The Union Minister answered the question asked by BJP Rajya Sabha member GVL Narasimha Rao. The Union Minister said that the preparation of the DPR for the six-lane beach corridor project between Visakhapatnam and Bhogapuram has started.

*  Union Minister of State for Rural Development Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti said that Rs.653.89 crore has been allocated to Andhra Pradesh from 2017-18 to 2021-22 under the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM). The Union Minister gave this answer to a question asked by Vaikapa Rajya Sabha member Beda Mastan Rao. The Minister said that 89,29,363 women have been included in self help groups in the state under NRLM.

* Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Rs.579.47 crores have been released to Andhra Pradesh in three years from 2019-20 to 2021-22, Union Minister of State for Rural Development Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti said. The Union Minister gave this answer to a question asked by Vaikapa Rajya Sabha member Beda Mastan Rao. The Minister explained that under PMGSY, 18,965.60 km of roads have been sanctioned in AP so far and 17,261.07 km of works have been completed, 303 bridges have been sanctioned and 265 have been completed.

Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals at 16 places in AP

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that Gatishakti multi-modal cargo terminals will be set up at 16 places in Andhra Pradesh. He replied to a question asked by Vaikapa MP Vallabhaneni Balashauri in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. These terminals will be set up at Vadlapudi, Krishnapatnam, Veeravasaram, Karapa, Baiyavaram, Thettu, Venkatachalam, Bikavolu, Machilipatnam, Jaggaiyapet, Sanjamala, Banaganapalli, Krishnapuram, Nakkanadodi, Koggugala and Tummalacheruvu. The aim is to complete the construction of these within 24 months after the approvals are given. He said that by March 1 this year, 30 kinetic energy terminals have been opened across the country, including Nakkanadoddy and Tummalacheruvu terminals in Andhra Pradesh.

It is not possible to run passenger train on Motumarri-Vishnupuram line

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that it is not possible to run passenger trains on Motumarri-Vishnupuram line. He replied to a question asked by MP Uttam Kumar Reddy in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. It has been clarified that they have received proposals to run passenger trains on this line, but it is not possible to run passenger trains as there are no necessary facilities for passengers on this route meant for freight transport.
