Dr.Thomas (Special Correspondent)

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said the BJP will get an absolute majority in the coming Assembly election.

Talking to reporters at Ghati Temple in Doddaballapur taluk of Bengaluru Rural district on Friday, he said several surveys have been done and all of them have indicated a strong fight. No survey has been in favor of the Congress party.

Still there is one and a half months before the Assembly polls and a lot of changes are seen.

List of candidates

Asked about the candidate’s list, the CM said the process has started and it will be out within a week.

Collection of opinion

On the collection of opinions about the probable candidates,Bommai said the booth-level office-bearers at the grassroots level are collecting opinions which would be reviewed by taluk and district level and then would be forwarded to the Parliamentary Board.

Frustrated Siddaramaiah

He said Leader of the Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah is frustrated as he had declared that the 2013 Assembly election would be his last election but again contested in the 2018 election. Now he is dreaming again.

A person becoming the CM is not important but what is important is what he would do for the people as the chief minister.

The people of Karnataka rejected the Congress Party in the 2018 Assembly election and something would be done on May 10.

No commitment

Reacting to the opposition parties’ statements that the reservation announced by the state government is a political gimmick, the CM sought to know why they did not do it when they were in power.

This demand had been pending for the last thirty years and they did not consider it due to lack of commitment.

They treat people as the vote bank. What was impossible for them had been done and shown by the BJP government. So,they have become frustrated and

politicizing everything.T ough fight in Varuna

He said former CM, B.S.Yediyurappa would decide after surveying the Varuna constituency. The BJP would give a tough fight and the people want State BJP Vice-President B.Y.Vijayendra to contest from the Varuna constituency.

Ultimately,Yediyurappa would decide from where his son, Vijayendra must contest in the coming Assembly election.
