annada film star,chetan Ahimsa has been arrested by sheshadripuram police on Tuesday for posting controversial tweets on his Twitter account about Hindutva recently and sent to Judicial custody for 14 days by court.
Based on the complaint by shivakumar, the police charged chethan under section 295A and 505(2) of IPC. He was taken into custody for further investigation.
Chetan in his tweet stated Hindutva built on the base of lies citing savarkar,Babri masque and Uri gowda and Nanje gowda claims.
He also tweeted that Hinduvta can be defeated by truth and the truth is unity.
This according to Shivakumar hurt sentiments of Hindus and provoked breach of peace.
Earlier in February 2022,Chetan was arrested for criticising Justice Krishna Dixit,the Supreme Court judge who was hearing pleas against a ban on Muslim girls wearing hijabs in schools in the state.
At the time,Chetan was referring to a 2020 order in which the judge had questioned the behaviour of a woman who alleged rape.
Justice Dixit’s comments were later deleted from the order after it sparked outrage and it was termed regressive.
