he Bagaluru police have arrested a 33-year-old truck driver who killed his step son and dumped the body in a lake in the outskirts of the city over a domestic row with his second wife on February 20.
The accused Sampath had married to Pushpa,as second wife an year ago.Pushpa was married and separated with her husband with two children.
Soon Sampath used to fight with Pushpa frequently suspecting her fedility.Unable to bear this Pushpa admitted her first son Chethan,11,a 5th grade student to a residential school in Bagaluru and started living separately .
Sampath tried to patch up with Pushpa but she was adament.On February 20,Sampath went to the school and fetched Chethan and took him to hosakote on his bike on the pretext of taking him for a stroll .
The accused even got him biryani at a roadside dhaba and even called Pushpa many time to talk.However Pushpa did not received his call depsite repeated attempts.
Enraged by this Sampath took Chethan near Rampura lake near Kyasamballi in KGF,strangled Chethan to death and threw his body in the lake and returned home .
Meanwhile the school authorities after realizing that Chethan did not return from school informed Pushpa who filed a missing complaint .
Based on the complaint,the police tried to track down Sampath.Sensing trouble Sampath consumed poison and attempted to end his life.
He was admitted to a hospital and police awaited for his recovery.
On Sunday he was questioned and based on his confession the police rushed ot Rampaura lake and recovered the highly decomposed body of Chethan from the lake.
The police are now taken him into custody for further investigations.
In a similar incident,the Siddapura police have arrested a man who clubbed his drunk neighbour to death enraged over indecent proposal on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Manikanta,43,a labourer by profession and resident of KM colony in Jayanagar 1st block was chronic alcoholic.
On Wednesday he visited his neighbour Suresh’s house and demanded sexual favour from his wife.Enraged Suresh attacked him with club and rendered him unconscious.
He later informed the family members of Manikanta that he had passed out in front of his house due to over drinking and asked them to take him home.
The family members took him home and later realized that he was bleeding from nose and took him to Victoria hospital where the doctor examined him and declared as brought dead.
The family members filed a complaint suspecting Suresh involvement.The police took Suresh into custody and a detailed probe led him to confess .
The accused Suresh has been booked under murder for further investigation.
