MLA Madal Virupakshappa absconding lokayukta officials intensifies search operation special teams formed

A day after the search and seizure of cash and valuables at the house of Bharatiya Janata Party MLA for Channagiri Madal Virupakshappa,the accused went incommunicado and Lokayukta officials have formed special trams to track him down.

Senior Lokayukta officials said,Virupakshappa, Chairman,Karnataka soaps and Detergents Limited has been made a prime accused in the corruption case while his son Prashanth Madal,Finance Advisor of BWSSB was accused no.2 in the case after he was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.40 lakh at his office on Cresent road on Thursday.

While Prashanth and four others were remanded to judicial custody,the prime accused in this case is missing.

The police are on his lookout to question him about the huge amount of cash and valuables seized from his house in Sanjay Nagar on Friday.

The Lokayukta police are now trying to ascertain the source of the valuables.However the MLA is missing since then and the police have searched for him at his house at native place,his offices and farm house.

Meanwhile the IT and ED officials have contacted the Lokayukta officials to get details about the seizure .

Meanwhile the KSDL employees Union has complained to the Lokayukta about the rampant corruption by the officials demanded a detailed probe to safeguard their interest.
