he Anti-Narcotics wing of CCB in its month long special drive against drugs cracked five cases,arrested 11 peddlers and recovered synthetic drugs worth Rs.1.3 crore .
CH Pratap Reddy Commissioner of police, said that the seized drugs includes 926 grams of MDMA crystals,50 grams worth 117 MDMA esctasy tablets, 3.8 grams of LSD strips and 83.7 grams of Hasish oil.
Explaining the modus operandi of the peddlers,Mr. Reddy,said that the accused many of them are from Kerala and African nationals would adopt different methods to sell drugs but persistent efforts of Narcotics wing officials managed to crack down on the network .
Referring to a case registered in Banasawadi,the Narcotics Wing officials said that the peddlers are from Kenya and Tanzania came to the city on Student Visa and peddled drugs.
The accused would sell the drugs to the customers visiting “Africa Kitchen”a restaurant started by an African national .
Most of the customers for this restaurant are foreign nationals coming for the sole purpose of getting drugs.
Referring to another case where peddlers are from Kerala,they would carry the only on phone and keep the drugs in an isolated and unsuspected places before sending picture and location details to the mobile number of the customer.
The payment is also through online and the no cheating took place while delivering .
The accused would source the drugs from their source in Kerala and foreign contacts through courier .
In another incident,the peddlers in KR Puram hired few college drop outs to rent a house so that they could use the houses to store drugs.
This is to avoid undue attention of the police and to employ clean faces into the racket,City police Commissioner,CH Pratap Reddy,appreciated,Joint CP Crime,Dr SD Sharanappa,DCP Crime-2,Badrinath and his whole Anti-Narcotics Wing officials for their excellent work and meticulous investigation in nabbing the Notorious Drug peddlers a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
