In Tripura, the government of the Communist party meant deteriorated law and order that ranges from rapes, bandh, strikes, political killings and political vendetta etc. whereas, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government means connectivity, internet, hospitals and corruption-free and development-oriented government, said Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Sonowal along with Dr. Sumit Bhasin (Director at Public Policy Research Center i.e. PPRC) addressed a joint press conference at the Central Office of BJP today and released the “Research Report” of PPRC, based on public welfare and development works done in Tripura under the double engine BJP government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Public Policy Research Center conducted research on the development activities in Tripura in the last five years. Six researchers have prepared the report after spending three months on the ground.
Sonowal said that under the leadership and guidance of the Prime Minister of India, the BJP is moving ahead to fulfil the dream of developed Tripura. Congress ruled the country for almost 60 years. They never gave prominence to the Northeast in the national agenda. Congress made the “Look East Policy” but never tried to connect it with the ground reality.
The Prime Minister changed the “Look East” policy with the “Act East” policy and made the Northeast region the gateway to the country’s development. Modi had said that “Transformation is possible only through transportation.”
Sonowal added that during the Congress party’s and Communist party’s rule, Tripura was a deprived state. But now, under the leadership and guidance of the Prime Minister, the double-engine government of the BJP is taking Tripura towards a prosperous, happy and developed Tripura.
Prime Minister gave the mantra of HIRA for the development of North East i.e. Highways, Internet, Railways and Airways.
The press conference provided an overview of the accomplishments and multitude of initiatives performed by the Government of Tripura under Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the last five years.
The press conference highlighted that the BJP government had completely transformed Tripura in the last five years by successfully ushering in inclusive, development-oriented and corruption-free governance.
Besides, the Press Conference highlighted the steps taken by the government of Tripura for the welfare of the farmers, from increasing the average income of farmers in the state by 98% from Rs. 6,580 in 2015 to Rs. 13,590 in 2022.
