Gym trainer turned chain snatcher arrested by Chennamankere Achukattu police recovered 44 grams of Gold chain

  he CK Achukattu police on Saturday arrested a 28-year-old gym trainer for snatching a gold chain from an elderly woman worth Rs.2.2 lakh on December 4.

The accused identified as Manjunatha alias Gym Manja from Katriguppe ,

The accused had changed his attire and even reduced the weight to escape from police scrutiny.

However following the technical leads the police pinned him down after 45 days and recovered 44 grams of gold chain from him.

During investigation the accused told the police the salary was too low and difficult to manage and hence decided to earn quick money.

As per the plan he zeroed in on elder woman identified as Rukmini,from Poornapragna layout in Banashankari third stage while she was returning home from evening walk.

On the pretext of inquiring address,Manjunath approached her and later pushed her on the ground before fleeing with the gold chain.

The accused reached home and burnt the cloths he was wearing and changed his attire.He even went around the police station and observed the police movements few times while having tea at the near-by shop,a senior officer,said .

The accused had even changed shed few kilos of weight to hoodwink the police.

Meanwhile the police following the CCTV footage and technical details,zeroed in on Manjunatha who stayed close to the station .

The accused has been taken into custody to ascertain his criminal background,he said.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,CH Pratap Reddy has appreciated Addl CP West,Sandeep Patil, DCP South,P Krishnakant,ACP,Nagaraj G,PI,Uday Ravi,and his whole crime staff who has done tremendous and excellent service done in nabbing the Gym trainer to become rich in short and make quick money became chain snatcher is now cooling his heels in jail a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
