India has joined the fastest built submarine fleet in history. With its arrival, India’s sea power was strengthened.


Internet Desk: Another submarine has joined the Indian Navy. The ceremony of handing over INS Vagir to the Navy was held today. Navy Chief Admiral R. Harikumar participated in this program. “This submarine will enhance the capabilities of the Indian Navy. It protects the interests of the country from enemies. Moreover, it provides critical intelligence, surveillance and surveillance during times of crisis,” the Navy said in a statement.

This is the fifth diesel electric submarine built under project 75. ‘Wageer’ means shark. Its main ability is to operate quietly and fearlessly. This name is taken from an old submarine that was used from 1973-2001. This new submarine is built by Majigaon Dock Ship Builders. For this technology was transferred from France to India. This submarine is equipped with world’s best sonars. Moreover.. it also has wire guided torpedoes. Subsurface to surface missiles can be launched from this submarine. This gives the ability to quickly attack the enemy fleet. The submarine is capable of sending marine commandos into enemy bases for special operations.


INS Vagir can be deployed in the middle of the sea and very close to the shores. It is one of the most advanced indigenously built submarines. It was unveiled in November 2020. From that date to February 2022, various tests including weapons and sonar were conducted in the sea. INS Vagir is the fastest submarine built in India in the past. It sets an example of improving self-reliance in India.
