Meghalaya Assembly Election 2023 Dates Live: Nominations on February 7, Polling On February 27 – Check Full Dates
The election for the 60-member Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will take place in a single phase with gazette notification being issued on January 31 and the last date of nomination set on February 7. Scrutiny of nominations will take place on February 8 and the last date for withdrawal of nomination will be February 10.

Polling will take place on February 27 and votes will be counted on March 2 along with Tripura and Nagaland and the poll process will be completed by March 4, 2023, said the Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar in a press conference in the national capital today.

The election for the 60-member Tripura Legislative Assembly will take place in a single phase with gazette notification being issued on January 21 and the last date of nomination is set for January 30. The Election Commission of India (ECI) will be announcing the poll schedule for Assembly elections in three states at 2:30 pm today.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar will announce the poll schedule for Nagaland, Tripura and Meghalaya legislative assemblies. “Press Conference by Election Commission of India to announce the Schedule of General Elections to Legislative Assemblies of Nagaland, Meghalaya & Tripura- 2023,” an EC press note on Wednesday, January 18, mentioned.

The term of assemblies of Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Tripura is ending on March 12, March 15, and March 22, respectively.

While Tripura is ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), in the other two states, the BJP is part of the ruling coalition. In Nagaland, the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party is in power. National People’s Party, the only party from the Northeast to have national party recognition, runs the government in Meghalaya.
