Appointment orders distributed to Pourakarmikas;Govt to take steps to regularise services of 42,000 pourakarmikas-CM Bommai

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said 42,000 pourakarmikas working in the State of which the services of 11,133 persons have been regularised. The services of others will be regularised in the coming days.

Speaking after distributing the appointment letters to the pourakarmikas of various local bodies here on Wednesday,he said a risk allowance of Rs.2000 has been announced for the pourakarmikas in the budget.

The existing law has been changed to protect their interest and to make them live with a sense of dignity and self-reliance.

In Belagavi district,the services of 309 cleaners and 1437 loaders have been reglarised,and the process for regularising the services of others is on.Till then their monthly payment will be directly credited into their bank account.

Poura Naukararu and not Pourakarmikas
The CM regretted that politics is played even in petty issues.

It will be better for them to have trust in those who are rendering them justice.Henceforth,they will be addressed as Poura Naukaras and not pourakarmikas.Calling them by a different name will give them a sense of self-respect and dignity.

Priority to the education of children of poura naukaras

Bommai said at any cost the education of the children of Poura Naukaras must not be hampered and the government is ready to address the problems.

They must study well and reach top posts.Such social changes will be made.The reservation for SC/ST has been hiked and all steps will be taken to stand by this decision.

The government has recognised the services of poura naukaras and will provide a good education to their children to make their future bright.

I am giving instructions to the minister to prepare a list of the children of poura naukaras who write the coming degree examination in March next year to arrange special training for the competitive examination.

We are also ready to give special coaching to appear for other competitive exams including CET”.
