Sanction for filling up tanks at Rs.754 crore soon; CM Bommai

Two proposals of Rs.754 crore pertaining to Chamarajanagar and Gundlupet are sent to the board meeting for approval and it will get approved soon,said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking after inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for many developmental works in both Chamarajanagar and Gundlupet Assembly constituencies here on Tuesday,he said a DPR is ready to fill up all tanks at a cost of Rs.1,100 crore is ready and once it is approved the water filling will become a big project.This will be done by the government.

Already, the work of filling up tanks in the entire district including Kollegal and Gundlupet has been taken up.

Five irrigation projects worth Rs.694 crore have been sanctioned of which two projects of filling 63 tanks have been completed.Also completed filling up of 121 tanks in Gundlupet, Matehalla and Kudtharihalla.

Industrial township in Chamarajanagar

The CM said with irrigation projects,underground water level will improve and help agriculture and drinking water.It will make people healthy.

There is a possibility to convert this district as an industrial district and steps have been taken in this regard.

An industrial township will be established on 1,000 acres of land in the district and large and small scale industries will be sanctioned. Projects are sanctioned with an intention that youths must get jobs.

Good omen to visit Chamarajanagar

Bommai said visiting this district will improve their political strength and not decline.One blind belief has unnecessarily remained for the last so many years.

People of this district are like gems and having darshan of these people is a good omen.Since Chamarajanagar is a border district,it required a comprehensive and planned development.

It is blessed with natural resources,flora and fauna. More than this, there are hard working farmers. The district is witnessing development after becoming a new district 25 years ago.

It was declared as a new district by J.H.Patel when he was the chief minister.The incumbent government is committed to overall development of the district.
