More investment in agriculture sector will not only improve their income but it will instill confidence in them to live in self-esteem,said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.Speaking after inaugurating 69th All India Co-Operation Week-2022 in Sedam here on Monday,he said the co-operative societies must decide the economic measurement of loan given per hectare of land and then only farmers will escape from the exorbitant rates of interest and lead a normal life.
The government was doing the job of increasing the capital in the agriculture sector and advanced loans to 10 lakh farmers, re-introduced Yashaswini, computerised banks and implemented Vidyanidhi scheme for farmers’ children.
Rs.24,000 crore loan sanctioned for 32 lakh farmers
The government has a target of advancing Rs. 24,000 crore loan to 32 lakh farmers, besides,the total computerisation of the co-operative societies of PLD banks.
For this purpose,Rs.45 crore fund has been earmarked.This will be helpful in Direct Benefit Transfer to farmers’ bank accounts.
The Gulbarga DCC Bank was revived by Rajkumar Patil and made it a strong bank.It was on the verge of closure but was revived.
Now it has advanced Rs.1012 crore loan to 2 lakh farmers of Kalaburagi district.With the co-operation of the state government the lives of two lakh farmers are improved.
Bommai said the Yashaswini scheme was re-launched to protect the health of farmers for which Rs 300 crore has been earmarked.
Under this scheme,farmers could avail immediate treatment in all empaneled hospitals.All family members of each farmer are eligible for treatment.
The government has brought under this scheme treatment for the serious ailments like heart,kidney and cancer.
Registration for this scheme has started from November 1 and it will go on till December 31.
For the next one year, starting from January 1, farmers will be covered under this health insurance scheme through trust.
The government has done this to help farmers and this can be expected only from the pro-farmer government.
Revolution in Cooperation field
The co-operation sector was growing socially, economically and academically and in order to strengthen this sector,the Department of Co-Operation was specially created by the Government of India and handed it over to able leader, Amit Shah.
There will be a revolution in the field of co-operation,said the CM.
