15 New Log Huts At Narikel Kunja In Dumboor Lake, North-East India

Chief Minister of Tripura Dr Manik Sarkar on few days ago inaugurated 15 new log huts at the Narikel Kunja surrounded by Dumboor lake in Gomati District which is about 135 KMs away from Agartala city.

The Dumboor lake is a massive water body of 41 square kilometers and has almost 48 islands.

Inaugurating the log huts at Narikel Kunja, Dr Saha praised the role of State Tourism minister Pranajit Singha Roy and Tourism department’s secretary Kiran Gitte for drawing attraction of tourist lovers, truly that is incomparable. “We all love travelling. Whenever there is any leisure, vacation for children from educational institutions, or focusing on any festival, we selected certain spots for visiting. Many people within the country and abroad still do not have an accurate idea about Tripura”, he added.

“Few days back, I came to Narikel Kunja, my ideas have changed as Tripura has such a beautiful place at Dumboor nagar in Dhalai district. Thereafter, wherever I have visited, I highlighted the significance of Dumboor lake and Narikel Kunja. During my visit to Delhi a couple of times, I met with several union ministers and told them about Dumboor lake and Narikel Kunja. I have invited them to visit these two locations in the same area. In that case, we should campaign immensely. Yesterday, I shared the pictures of Narikel Kunja from my pages on different social media platforms. It’s being said that the number of shares and likes that took place in the last 24 hours is highly commendable” Chief Minister said.

Dr Saha said “Our MP Rebati Tripura tried to draw the attention that the economic condition of the residents of this area is connected with tourism. Hence, God has given us such a great opportunity, so we should make good use of it. Log Hut is constructed here. Even people who will connect with tourism, the government will also provide those financial help. The government’s prime instance is to maintain the unity between tribal and non-tribal population in Tripura. We are working on the direction of attaining ‘Ek Tripura Shrestha Tripura’ through developments in every sector”, he added.

“Few days back, I went to Jampuijala and inaugurated a para-gliding sports adventure activity. We could never imagine that paragliding scope would be introduced in Tripura. The government is working tirelessly for the attraction of tourist spots at Chabimura, Matabari, Ujjayanta Palace, etc. Various initiatives taken under the Tourism sector. Around 5 lakh tourists visit Tripura every year. Our target is to raise the graph of visitors in many folds in the coming days”, the Chief Minister told the gathering.

In this event, Tourism minister Singha Roy, MP Rebati, MLA Parimal Debbarma, MDC Bhumikananda Reang, District Magistrate of Dhalai district UK Chakma and other officials, members of women-led SHGs and local people were present.

Recently, Tripura’s tourism department is contemplating to introduce a houseboat facility in this lake and Rs 7.38 crore has been sanctioned for development of 5 islands in Dumboor Lake along with sports adventure activities.
