Trio held,Inter-State Car Thieves arrested recovered 16 stolen cars Worth Rs.5 Crore

The Pulakeshinagar police on Saturday busted an inter state car theft racket and arrested three people and recovered 16 cars worth Rs.5 crore from them.

Senior officer told reporters,Based on a complaint from a city based businessman,a team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police, (Pulakeshinagar Sub-Division),Abdul Khadar,a team headed by PI, Kiran KB and his team with the help of technical inputs arrested Manish,33, from Vasanthnagar and Imam from Maruthinagar who are second hand car dealers who are selling the stolen cars with fake registration number plates .

Based on their information,the police arrested Jabir SHariff,a notorious car lifter who used to work for them.

The accused confessed to have stolen four cars from New Delhi and gave it to the accused,who changed the registration number of the vehicle and manipulated the records and sell it to gullible customers .

The racket came to light when one of their customer identified as Vasanth Kumar,who bought a SUV from the accused got verified his documents to find that it was fake and approached the police with the complaint said a senior officer.

The team grilled all the trio and based on their statement the inspector and his team recovered 16 SUV worth Rs.5 Crore.
