CM Bommai promises funds for Singapura-Nittur Bridge works

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai promised to release funds to build Singapura-Nittur bridge across River Tungabhadra.

Speaking after inaugurating Jan Sankalp Yatra in Siruguppa here on Thursday, he said MP Sangappa Karadi and Somalingappa have put forth several demands.

A bypass project is getting ready and the funds required for it will be provided.Karnataka Rural Water Supply and SewerageBoard has been instructed to take up UGD works in the town.

The state government is committed to giving the maximum grants for the overall development of Siruguppa taluk.

Rs.5,000 crore plan for district development

Bommai said this year, Rs.25,000 crore Iron Ore Fund which was lying unspent,will be spent on the development of 4-5 districts as per directions of Supreme Court.

Each district will be developed at a cost of Rs. 5,000 crore and an action plan will be prepared. The government will spend Rs.5,000 crore on development works in the next two years, he added.

The CM also praised MLA Somalingappa as a friendly-MLA who has a lot of concern for the uplift of all communities. In the last five years, four residential schools and bridge works have commenced.
