Preparation of higher education curriculum, separate houses in medical for three divisions in Calcutta Medical College Hospital

Abhijit Ray, Kolkata:Calcutta Medical College Hospital plans to create 3 new departments including Neonatal Department. For this, financial approval has been sought from the health department, according to the sources of the hospital. It is planned to open the Neonatology department with at least 50 seats.Presently there is a unit of Neonatology under the Department of Pediatrics in Medical. A minimum of 30 beds is initially required for approval for opening a new department.Because of that, the medical authorities are optimistic about the speedy opening of this department. At the same time, it has also been proposed to start cardiac anesthesiology and rheumatology departments in the hospital. Dr. Raghunath Mishra, principal of the medical college, said that after getting the permission of the health department, an attempt will be made to introduce higher education courses in the departments next year. As heart and thoracic surgery is increasing, the importance of cardiac anesthesiology department is also increasing.Medical has the infrastructure to run 20 critical care beds under the department. A similar message has been sent to the health center. Rheumatology department is present only in PG hospitals. But as the number of patients related to different types of rheumatic fever is increasing, it is not enough to have this department in just one medical college. Doctors like that.
