After 20 days of hard work,the Sampigehalli police on Tuesday arrested a 23-year-old lawn care worker and his associate for kidnapping a 14-year-old son of a software engineer from his house for a ransom of Rs.15 lakh.
Senior officer told reporters,The accused had sneaked into the house through the basement door and basement door of the room,during investigation we found that they gagged the boy sleeping in his room and kidnapped him in the SUV belonging to the techie.
The accused drove the victim to the outskirts of the city and called the father using the phone of the victim demanding the ransom.
They threatened to kill the boy if the family inform the police scared of this consequences the father went to the place near Dabaspete and left the cash filled bag at the place mentioned by the accused.
The accused picked up the bag and left the boy at an isolated place and sped away with the SUV.
The family later filed a complaint with the police. Based on the complaint a special team led by Anoop A Shetty,has been formed to track down the accused.
The police later found the vehicle abandoned in the outskirt of the city.The police found that the accused had taken an autorickshaw to came back to Sampigehalli to pick up the motorcycle they had parked .
Following the trail of the motorcycle,the police found some evidence before picking up the accused identified as Sunil Raj,23,of Gudibande and his associate Nagesh,22,of Mandikal village.
The police have recovered a newly bought motorcycle worth Rs.1.5 lakh,a SLR cameras worth Rs.36,000 and a bike they had used for committing the crime and recovered cash Rs.9.6 lakh from them.
A detailed investigation by the team it has revealed that the prime accused Sunil Raj had come to victim’s house for lawn work and hatched a plan to abduct the boy and take the money to be used to pay the fee and buy the camera since he had a hobby of photography.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,CH Pratap Reddy has appreciated Addl CP East,A subramanyeshwara Rao,DCP Northeast,Dr Anoop A Shetty ACP,Rangappa T,and crime staff of Sampigehalli has been successful in cracking the case and nabbed two kidnappers a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
