INDIAN COAST GUARD FLAGS OFF “NARI SHAKTI – SWACHHTA SE SURAKSHA TAK” CAMPAIGN

Gujarat: Whilst the nation celebrates Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Indian Coast Guard (ICG) with a purpose of cleanliness and protection of beaches launched “Naari Shakti – Swachhta se Suraksha Tak” campaign, a unique initiative of inclusiveness of fisherwomen towards ensuring the same. The campaign has been flagged off on 03 August 2022 from Swarnim Park, Gandhinagar by Mrs Kavita Harbola, Regional President Tatrakshika (North West) in presence of the Regional Commander.

ICG wives and women Officers will travel to the coastal areas of Gujarat and interact with women of major fishing hamlets of Gujarat from 03-06 August 2022, sensitizing them on secure seas, beach cleanliness and personal hygiene.

The campaign from 03 to 06 August 2022 covering about 1200 kms of Gujarat coast and villages enroute, is a prelude to the series of activities planned in the run up to International Coastal Cleanup Day on 17 September 2022. Gujarat Fisheries Department and Marine Police Gujarat will also participate in the campaign. Lions Club Gandhinagar and M/s Mood of Wood, the furniture house is supporting Tatrakshikas in this cause.
