Five among Private firm employee arrested for altering and riding bike with fake number plates to evade paying fine

he Rajaji Nagar police on Friday arrested a 31-year-old-private firm employee for riding his bike with fake number plates,to hoodwink the traffic police and to evade paying fine.

Senior officer said,The accused Marigowda,was caught by Head Constable Syed Nawaz,on suspecion while he was riding two wheeler in Koolinagar bridge on Friday morning.

The head constable during Verification of documents found that the original number plate of his bike is KA05 JS 7536 but the accused had altered last number to rear side number plate to KA05 JS 7538.The main intention is to evade paying from fine.

The officials slapped the fine for front number plate has 19,500 pending fine amount and back number plate has 9,500 pending fine amount.

The police seized the vehicle and booked a case against him in Nandini Layout police and remanded to judicial custody till August 12.

This is the fifth case registered by west division traffic regarding fake number plates.The accused in the cases have been arrested and their vehicles seized .

Among the five cases reported in traffic west division,the VV puram and Banashankari police caught the biker during a minor accident and checking the documents revealed the fake number plates.

While the remaining three cases reported in Rajaji Nagar,Vijaya Nagar and KS Layout the police caught the bikers with fake number plates during random checks.

Four cases details .

Mahesh Rathod attached to Rajajinagar traffic station was assigned duty opposite Dr.Rajkumar Smaraka on Wednesday morning.

He noticed an autorickshaw was parked in one way for a long time.Mr.Rathod approached the autorickshaw and inquired with people near-by about the driver to move the vehicle, but in vain.

After waiting for sometime,he checked the emission certificate from there obtained the contact number of the owner and called the contact number of the owner mentioned in the certificate.

To his shock the owner told him that his vehicle had been stolen from VV Puram last week and he had filed a complaint with the police.

Rathod bought this to the notice of his senior.The information was crossed checked with the VV Puram police about the theft case for confirmation before summoning the owner of the vehicle to the spot.

The owner rushed to the spot and the autorickshaw was handed over to the VV Puram police for further procedure.

This is not an isolated cases as the traffic police in the last one week detected at least four cases of vehicle theft and fake number plate cases through random checks,a senior police officer, said .

On Last Wednesday (13/7/22) a vehicle get stolen from Jayanagar 5th block and within 40 mins the same vehicle met with an minor accident on 24th main.

Jayanagar Traffic constable deputed at the junction intervenes and on verifying found that the vehicle is of theft.

The accused managed to fled the scene.The vehicle was later handed over to Jayanagar police for further investigation.

On Tuesday the traffic police caught Syed Aftab, a fabricator by profession for forging the number plate and travelling.

He did this to avoid the traffic fine and also to default his loan EMI.He has been arrested by Subramanayapura police and remanded to 14 days custody.

In July 2, the Banaswadi police arrested three drug peddlers during random vehicle check a few days ago turned out to be notorious muggers and chain-snatchers who had created havoc in the area with a series of such incidents.

On June 30,Kengeri police arrested a 35-year-old bike lifter and recovered four stolen bikes worth Rs.3.7 lakh from him on Wednesday.

Manjunath from Rajarajeshwari Nagar was caught by alert police on Uttarahalli main road when they were checking vehicles and found Manjunath trying to slip away suspiciously.

However the motorists continue to fret about traffic police alleged harassment through random checks at every nook and corner which also cause traffic snarls.

Responding to them Director General and Inspector General of Police,Praveen Sood issued orders restraining traffic police not to stop vehicle for random checks unless there is visible violations.

The traffic policemen should focus on traffic management more than enforcing road discipline and ordered to record the violations contactless .

The rule according to the order is not applicable for special drives.However the traffic policemen averred that contactless violations does not work for many motorists and carrying random checks may not only detect crimes but also ensure more traffic discipline said a senior officer.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner C H Pratap Reddy,Joint CP Traffic,Dr BR Ravikanthe Gowda has appreciated DCP Traffic West, Kuldeep Kumar R Jain and his team as,PIs,as,Giriraj of Vijayanagar Traffic,Venkatesh of KS layout traffic,Smt.Eshwari Suresh of Jayanagar Traffic,and Smt.Shivarathna of Rajajinagar traffic and alert officers as,Arsaiah,Shivakumar,Vijay Kumar,and staff,as, Mahantesh Talwar,Harish,Chandranna,Mahesh Rathod,Syed Nawaz,Nagaraj,and other staff and officers have been appreciated and a suitable reward will be given to whole team for the exemplary and tireless efforts shown by them in cracking fake number plates who thought they are genius but their genius foiled by these field officers with their active presence.

The traffic policemen will continue to crack cases through conventional methods which according to a senior police officer will also ensure traffic discipline among motorists and warns of strict and legal action against those who are indulged in these type of criminal activities as it will be dealt strictly he said.
