A group of Post Graduate students filed a complaint accusing the police and gunmen of MLA Munirathna of assaulting them over objecting to banners put up at the campus on Sunday night .
The students alleged that the police and the gunmen abused them,snatched their mobile phones to delete the footage and assaulted them before bundling them into the vehicle .
They were taken to the station and detained illegally .
The Students in their complaint alleged that the brutality but also violations of HC order on the banners.
They demanded strict actions against the erring policemen and gunmen involved in the incident.
A Senior police officer said that an inquiry has been initiated based on the report, necessary action will be taken.
