Man held by Hulimavu police for duping US Citizen elderly woman to the tune of Rs.2.6 Crore

In a swift action,the Hulimavu police rushed to KSR Railway Station and nabbed 30-year-old Kannaiah Kumar Yadav,who was about to board a train to Bihar,after duping a senior citizen of US by taking over her house worth Rs 2.6 crore .

Senior officer told reporters,The victim,Mani Thirumalai,75 was leaving with her two daughters who are doctors at the reputed hospitals.

After the death of her husband,she returned to India to spend rest of her life in the city two months ago and stayed in the service apartment at Sarvabhouma Nagar in Hulimavu where she met the accused.

The victim soon become emotionally dependent on the accused and used to assign for errands .

She soon started calling him Beta who soon turned “badboy” and started giving her nightmares,a police officer,who is part of the operation said .

In the month of May the victim Mani selected a house in BTM layout 4th stage for a price of Rs. 2.6 crore and finalized the deal .

Since she had to rush back to US for a routine medical check up,she gave the money in the form of three cheques to Yadav to close the deal and complete the formalities.

Taking advantage of the situation,Yadav made the payment and got the house registered in his name.

Things changed completely when Ms.Mani returned Yadav started behaving indifferently with her and threatened her with dire consequences when he asked about the house.

Devastated for being cheated by a trustworthy, Ms.Mani approached the police seeking help to get back her hard earned money.

The Hulimavu police inspector and team swung into action, and rushed to spot but Yadav by then have packed off and left to his home town, thinking that he will disappear for few years and come back to enjoy the property .

However his plan was spoiled and before he could move out,the police tracking his movement through sources,pinned him down at the railway station,before he was boarding the train.

The accused has been arrested and charged with Cheating,criminal breach of trust and criminal Intimidation against him.

A detailed probe led him to confess to his crime and re registered the property back to the name of rightful owner .

Its a request from the police for public especially the senior citizen not to trust strangers and become emotionally dependent .

There are people who on the garb of emotional availability extend support to gullible people and misuse their trust for their criminal intent said a senior officer.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,C H Pratap Reddy has appreciated Addl CP East,A subramanyeshwara Rao,DCP Southeast,CK Baba ACP,AB Sudhakar,PI,Chandrakant LT and his whole staff for nabbing the notorious cheater before fleeing to his native and foiled his plan of becoming rich a suitable reward will be given to whole team for the exemplary and timely action he added.
