Duo arrested by Bytarayanapura police for attacking Petrol pump staff with lethal weapons

The Bytarayanapura police have arrested two persons for assaulting and robing a petrol pump staff with a dagger when he asked to pay the money for filling petrol.

he accused has been identified as,Uday and Kiran.

Senior officer told reporters,Petrol pump station staff with the help of a traffic cop pin down a 21-year-old man part of the three member gang who attacked one of the staff with a dagger when he was asked to pay the money for filling the fuel for his motorcycle on Thursday.

The Byatarayanapura police inspector Shankar Nayak and his crime staff identified the accused as Kiran and based on his information arrested Uday while efforts are on to track down the third person who is on the run.

The accused went to Nayara Petrole Bunk, Avalahalli Main Road Girinagara at around 9.20 pm, when there was a less crowrd and asked the attendant to fill the tank.

The victim,Arun Kumar CS,28,filled the petrol and asked them to pay the bill of Rs.1570 for which the accused asked Kiran to take care of him and sped away.

Kiran pulled out a dagger,hurling abuses at him for demanding money and attacked Arun Kumar on his neck.

Arun severely injured and two of his colleagues, Kumar and Srinivas rushed to his help and caught Kiran.

The acused threatened them with dagger and tried to escape.

However they along with the help of a traffic constable on duty deployed near-by chased and caught Kiran and later handed him over to the police.

The police arrested Kiran and based on his
information track down Uday while efforts are on to trace the third accused.

The trio had committed a robbery on the same night before coming to the station and attacking Arun Kumar,a police officer said adding that Arun Kumar was taken to hospital for treatment and is said to be out of danger.

The Bytarayanapura police have charged the accused under,robbery,assault and criminal intimidation and remanded them to judicial custody.
