BBMP administrator, Rakesh Singh instructed the officials to finish off the works taken up ensuring the quality.
He also instructed the senior officials of the wards to visit the workplaces in person to inspect.
Addressing a virtual review meeting today,on the works being executed by BBMP,he said,All the roads in the city should be maintained properly.
He instructed the officials to clear the issues if any,working with responsibility,instead of blaming other departments like BWSSB,BESCOM, Bengaluru Smart City Ltd,etc.
Repair the footpaths.
Remove and replace the broken slab stones, and misplaced kerb stones immediately.The roads taken up by the smart city project should be in good condition.
Pending works of smart city roads should be completed quickly to allow smooth vehicular movement, he said.
Surprise inspection,along with senior officials will be done regarding the works taken up in the city,” he added.
He also instructed the zonal level officials to often inspect the works taken up by BBMP and also the works related to the solid waste management,Rajakaluve development works, pothole filling,etc
Speaking in the meeting,Chief Commissioner, Gaurav Gupta said,It should be ensured that the roads and the footpaths within the city should be in good condition.
Proper maintenance also should happen.Senior officers of the wards concerned should ensure this.Debris on footpaths,roadside should be removed.
Good opinion could be formed about BBMP only when we solve the problems before the public raise complaint.
So,officials have to solve the issues at the grass-root level itself.Keep the roads and footpaths clean”Gaurav Gupta said.
Pothole filling,restoration of road cuts should be done.Remove the debris,Work responsibility using the all available system,without blaming another department,he said.
Officials should be alert during the rainy season.
They should respond to the problems immediately.Shoulder drains should be in a better condition.Street lights should be maintained properly,he said.
Removal of hoardings and OFC cable:
Flex banners and hoardings established in the city should be removed.It should be ensured that there are no flex banners,hoardings are established again.
Officials should monitor this.Illegal OFC cables should be removed,he said.He instructed the officials to take action in this regard.
All the Zonal Commissioners,Smart City Managing Director,Zonal Joint Commissioner,All the Chief Engineers,Zonal Executive Engineers, Smart City Engineers,and other officials concerned were present at the meeting.
