A 46-year-old woman was killed and her elder brother injured when a speeding KSRTC bus knocked down their scooter they were riding near gate No. 7 on palace road on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Lakshmi KS, resident of Chintamani and had come to her elder brother Raghunath”s house .
Senior officer with Sadashivanagar Traffic Police rushed to the spot and after conducting preliminary investigation the officer said,the victim Lakshmi was suffering from Thyroid and was heading to a private hospital to consult a doctor .
The incident occurred at around 8.30 pm,While the duo was riding a scooter, a speeding Bus knocked their scooter down and Lakshmi who was riding pillion came under the wheels and ran over.
Raghunath ,55,riding the scooter was also injured and admitted to the hospital.
The Sadashivanagar traffic police rushed to the spot and seized the bus and arrested the driver charging him under death due to negligence and rash and negligent driving he added.
