Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar,wife of kannada film star, on Wednesday distributed helmets to the women traffic police to launch the wear quality helmet,save life,campaign of the traffic police department at Traffic Management Centre on Wednesday.
City police commissioner,Kamal Pant and joint commissioner of Police,Traffic,Dr BR Ravikanthe Gowda with other officers,as,Kuldeep Kumar R Jain,M Shantharaju,S Savitha with other officers and staff were present on the occasion they also launched a video clip containing voiceover message of Puneeth Rajkumar asking the road users to follow traffic rules and wear helmets while riding bikes.
This video clips will be aired during the screening of the Puneeth Rajkumar last movie James schedule to be released on Thursday.
Helmets were also distributed to traffic policemen and few members of general public present at the program.
The idea is to convey the traffic rules message to every household and ensure everyone follow the rules to minimize fatalities.Dr BR Ravikanthe Gowda,said.
Riders use sub standard helmets to avoid being caught by police and dont use straps, as a results maximum number of accidents are results in deaths .
The aim of the traffic department is to ensure the rules strictly so that the death rates an be minim
ized, he added .
