Fire & Emergency personnel injured while dousing fire at seven storeyed building in Marathahalli

A 33-year-old fire man injured when slipped from the 12 feet on the safety while being rescued and brought down from the fourth floor of the building which caught fire at seven storeyed commercial building in Marathahalli on Saturday.

The fireman identified as Vinay Kumar along with his team Prakash,Anjani Kumar and Dayanand went inside the building at around 10:45 to douse the fire .

Vinay Kumar who was wearing protective gear and breathing operatus and panicked due to thick smoke,heat and no clear vision .

He managed to reach a ventilator and flashed a torch light to send SOS signals to his colleagues.

Immediately rescue team with the help of aerial ladder reached to him and tied a rope around to scale him down.

While climbing down he lost balance and slipped from the first floor of the building and fell on the safety net.

He sustained simple fracture injuries on his ribs and a cut marks above his eyebrow.

He was rushed to a private hospital where he recovering .

Meanwhile the 14 fire and emergency service team led by District Fire Officer,Siddegowda doused the fire completely in five hours .

The building was newly constructed and vacant . hence no one injured in the fire, the officials said .

The fourth floor where the fire broke out suspected short circuit stored furniture and interior designing materials led to spread the fire said a senior fire officer.
