Halasurgate police arrested gang of seven including watchman,Recovered 4.9 kgs gold worth Rs.2.25 Crore

The Central Division police of Halasuru Gate police on Wednesday arrested a gang of seven including the watchmen of a gold company for robbing a 5.5 kgs of gold bullion worth Rs 2.5 crore from a jeweller after attacking him and his employees in Cubbonpet on November 19.

Commissioner of police,Kamal Pant,told reporters,a complaint was registered in Halasurgate police station by the victim,Siddeshwar Haribha Shinde along with his associate Suraj Srikanth Jadhav who stated in the complaint that they were returning on scooter after purchasing 5.5kgs of bullion from a gold company in Indian express building,when the accused confronted them and attacked with a sword.

Siddeshwar in a bid to escape the attack slipped from the scooter and fell on the road.The accused took the scooter which had gold bullion kept in the boot space and sped away.

Based on the complaint,two special teams were formed under the supervision of DCP,Central,MN Anucheth, a team headed by ACP, Halasurgate Sub-Division,Smt.Najma Farooq,under the leadership of PI,Deepak CV and team visited the spot and swung into action.

The police team analyzed cctv footage from in and around the area while analysing the footage the team identified the identity of the accused and was shown to victim and the vicitm identified as security guard of the gold company from where they purchased gold.

After getting the identity of the accused the crime team picked the security guard and zeroed in other accused from Nagawara, Govindapura and RT Nagar area.

During investigation the accused confessed the crime and revealed that one of the accused worked as a security guard for the gold company from where Shinde had bought gold.

It was found that the accused security guard kept a watch on the customers and pass on the information to his associates who followed Shinde and attacked him before fleeing with the gold.

A detailed investigation by the team it has revealed that two of the prime accused in the case are habitual offender having cases of extortion and robbery in various police station limits.

Based on their statement the police team recovered 2.25 crore worth 4.9 kgs of gold valuables while efforts are on to recover the remaining gold and further investigation is on he added.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP West,Soumendhu Mukherjee,DCP Central,MN Anucheth,ACP,Nazma Farooq,PI,Deepak CV,PSIs,NC Mallikarjun, Gopalakrishna,ASI,Shivakumar,Dinesh Shetty,and other crime staff has been appreciated for the exemplary and meticulous investigation done by them in nabbing the notorious gang and a cash reward of Rs.70,000 will be given to the team team who cracked the case he added.
