Jeweller attacked & robbed special teams formed to nab two armed robbers

The Halasurugate police formed two special teams to track down two armed robbers who attacked a jeweller and his employee and made away with 5.5 kgs of bullion worth Rs 2.5 crore on the busy Cubbonpet main road on Friday night.

While one team of police analyzed the CCTV footage and the other technical details, the other team checked on the habitual offenders .

Senior officer said,We suspect that it was a planned robbery and the accused have reached Siddeshwar Hariba Shinde for many days before they attacked him.

Even the scooter which had the gold bullion and was taken away by the accused is yet to be traced.

We are also suspecting the role of employee and kept a close watch on him,

On Friday night The duo confronted Siddeshwar and his employee attacked him with a sword, the duo ducked the attack, lost control and slipped from the scooter and fell on the road .

Before they could get up and react, the accused riding pillion took the scooter and sped away. The duo was wearing jackets and full mask helmets .

Since it was dark, the victims could not even notice the registration number of the vehicle , a police officer said .
