A 65-year-old man was stabbed to death by a security guard of the apartment in HAL on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Bhaskar Reddy,living in an Apartment with his son in AECS layout.
The police arrested the accused Basanth,20,and recovered the knife from him.
Senior officer told reporters,Reddy is secretary of association supervising the maintenance and security arrangements of the apartment .
The accused Basanth,a native of Nepal joined for security and maintenance duty three months ago.
Probe revealed that Basath was irregular at work and Reddy was pulling him up for not working properly.
On Wednesday also he was inspecting the work at the basement where Basanth was supposed to carry out certain routine work but he was not there.
While Reddy was questioning,Basanth got enraged and stabbed Reddy in the neck with a knife he was carrying.Reddy collapsed on the ground and started bleeding profusely.
The residents hearing the commotion rushed Reddy to a nearby hospital where he succumbed .
The HAL police rushed to the spot and arrested Basanth .
Based on the complaint filed by Rakesh Reddy, son of Bhaskar Reddy, the HAL police have taken up a case of murder and are investigating further.
